How I organise my Home & Apps screen on my Samsung Galaxy Note9

I like to look at things in an orderly and organised manner. But with the barrage of apps I use and hoard, I was finding my phone harder to look at.

When I tried to search on ways to organise my Home and Apps screen, there seem to be only general instructions on how to do it. I did, however, liked the idea of organising everything by frequency of use and with the help folders.

The only problem is no one really specifies what the categories are. Only that they should suit your needs. The thing is, I did not know where to start from. I have previously arranged my apps in folders, but I wanted a fresh look. Plus I want everything only on one page.

So I had the bright idea of running each app on Google Play and taking note of the categories they are listed under. This is what I got:

1. Communication
2. Productivity
3. Education & Books
4. Art & Design
5. Health & Fitnes
6. Social & Entertainment
7. Photography
8. Video
9. Music
10. Travel & Food
11. Adobe
12. Microsoft
13. Tools
14. Shopping
15. App Store

I had to put certain categories under one folder since I wanted only even rows, you know, for the aesthetics. Also, I took out the top five apps that I want to use more often and placed them at the top. I avoided putting up Instagram, Netflix, etc. just to avoid frequenting time-wasting apps. We all know that 2019 is all about cutting back phone usage (still waiting for Google to drop the Digital Wellbeing app for the Note9).

As for my Home screen, I kept it nice and clean with just the Google search widget at the top, because I do not know about you, but I tend to think of the most randomest thing to look up. And at the bottom of the screen, apps that I need daily.

How pretty is the wallpaper, #amiright?
